Director- Carl Iwasaki

Coach Iwasaki returned to his ala mater UNC in August of 2010 and led the Bears for 12 seasons and retired at the end of the 2022 spring season. Seven times Iwasaki led the Bears to a postseason conference tournament both in the Great West Conference and the Western Athletic Conference.  In 2013, Iwasaki was voted Great West Conference Coach of the year after leading Northern Colorado to its first GWC regular season title with a 20-7 mark in league play.  The Bears recorded non-conference wins vs. Nebraska, Kansas, Washington State, Wichita State, BYU, Santa Clara & San Jose State during his tenure. Under his watch, dozens of student-athletes have landed on All-Conference & Academic All-American awards.  Iwasaki was integral in the recruitment and development of Jensen Park who earned both Great West Player of the year in 2013 and WAC Player of the Year in 2015.  Park would inevitably be drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2015.  Nearly a dozen players have gone on to play professionally in the minor leagues during his tenure.

Prior to UNC Iwasaki was the Head Coach at Austin College in Sherman Texas from 2004-2010 he was named Coach of the Year in 2005 & 2007.  Iwasaki was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo California from 2000-2003.  Iwasaki also spent time from 1994-1997 as the General Manager for the Hawaiian Winter Baseball League affiliated with MLB.  He managed future HOF players in Todd Helton, NY Yankees Manager Aaron Boone, Milwaukee Manager Craig Council & Giants Manager Gabe Kapler during his tenure as GM.
